Chris did a wonderful job on the interior of our 1928 spanish house. As with all old homes there is a lot of special treatment needed to bring it back to life. He did a great job and the place looks beautiful. He was fast, clean and professional the entire time. It was one of the best experiences I have had in renovating our home.

We got three bids and we chose him because, even though they were all equally competitive, he was clearly the most comfortable with our large dog. The dog stays outside while we are at work, so the painter needed to be comfortable working around our dog. He did such a great job and he was meticulous with the prep work. We are happy and other people in the neighborhood have noticed so they’ve asked for his contact information. I cannot recommend him more highly; we definitely plan to use him for our future painting jobs. You have to be patient because he’s busy but he’s worth the wait.

After thoroughly checking Angie's List and getting 4 estimates, I decided to go with Chris Neubert of Mr. Smartypaints, even though his estimate was higher than a couple of the others. I was impressed by the A'sL reviews that noted Chris' thorough preparation of surfaces and his meticulous attention to detail. Also, he really seemed to know what he was talking about, and I liked his DETAILED written estimate and description of the work he would do. I also want to mention that Chris rescues animals, and he was wonderful with our dog!!

We got five quotes. Because Smarty Paints was lowest, we were initially worried about their ability to do job well but decided to try them on part of the project. Chris did a careful and meticulus job of sanding, scraping, repairing woodsiding on parts of the house which were badly deteriorated and had not been painted for more than ten years. Meticulously primed and brush painted all three structures - no spraying or rollers. He worked with us cheerfully through multiple experiments on paint color.  ALWAYS on time, always relaxed and cheerful. He was polite, respectful, gentle with young children and pets. We would not consider using another painter .
